Description : [OS - two joined halves] Seven figures bearing weapons (sticks or spears, two bear bows and arrows) some of whom appear to be wearing decorative headdresses and loincloths or aprons. Three animals resembling dogs, a bird with a curved beak, five large antelope. The large central antelope appears to be experiencing a nosebleed. No annotations.

Description in published source : p.59: "27. Martinshoek, Bell River, Rhodes, Barkly East, Cape, 1/7 lin." "A curious medley. Top left a Bantu or Hottentot is being attacked. In the centre is a hunt. Probably the terrier, the diving bird and the white buck are recent additions. Note the blood streaming from the nose of the centre animal. (This painting has been rediscovered by Mr Walter Battiss.)" (Goodwin)
