Description : Seventeen figures occupy the horizontal central plane of the painting. They wave sticks and knobkerries [?] in the air. Some are tall and thin, appearing masculine; the others are shorter and have larger buttocks and some have almost-discernable breasts, thus appearing feminine. An unidentifiable animal/form/marking occupies the bottom centre of the painting. It has spiky protrusions along its top surface. No text.
Verso : "119"
Description in published source : p. 54: "22. Luthers Kraal, Rouxville, O.F.S. 1/3 lin." "Possibly a clever perspective drawing in brick-red of two rows of people dancing; men in the foreground, women further away, swinging their knob-kiries or digging-sticks. The centipede is in orange-brown." (Goodwin)
