Description in published source : p. 28: "14. A symbolic painting. The contrast between black and orange is very marked in the original. The two figures to the left wear hoods with birdlike faces, their legs, bodies and faces are orange. The central figure to the right wears a black turban with long erect ears...All the figures wear carefully made skin clothing. The eland probably belongs to the group. Probably Hottentot." (Goodwin). p. 46: "14. Klein Aasvogelkop, Caledon River, Rouxville, O.F.S. 1/5 lin."
